Our PTA

Whakamārama School is supported by an outstanding PTA. Our PTA is run by an enthusiastic group of parents and has become an integral part of our school. Through some great initiatives, they are building a sense of community and connection within the families at our kura. 

Our PTA fundraises money that directly benefits our Whakamārama School learning community. They organise fundraising for special projects and community social events, in addition to supporting the school in as many ways as possible.

Our PTA's efforts help provide valuable resources and improvements to enhance our students’ learning and play experiences. Recent fundraising initiatives have supported:

 ✅ New dual basketball / netball hoops

 ✅ New water fountains

 ✅ New PE gear and sandpit equipment 

 ✅ A brand-new computer for our library, alonsgide a donation for library books

 ✅  Installation of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) - a valuable community resurce, making Whakamārama a safer place for everyone

 ✅  New dual football / rugby posts

 ✅  Games and activities for our classrooms

Currently, our PTA is focused on raising funds for our school gardens. The school’s garden has been an important part of school life since 2021, supporting the much-loved Garden to Table programme. 

Our Whakamārama School learning community is extremely lucky to have an active PTA. Those actively involved in the PTA not only gain satisfaction from assisting the school but also benefit from the opportunity to develop new skills, make new friends and have fun with other members of the community. PTA meetings are held once a month. Everyone is warmly invited and encouraged to attend.
